Aesthetics

Dorthe Merete Lykke Jensen considers her work to be a combination of handicraft and design. Her designs are created for the conscious consumer who values unique and exclusive slow fashion. Her designs are meant to be relevant beyond a single season.
Materials, expression, and color form a synthesis in Dorthe’s designs. She does not compromise on quality. Quality materials such as wool, silk, mohair, cashmere are primarily used in Dorthe’s designs.

In 2006, Dorthe worked as a trainee with the Japanese fashion designer Yoshiki Hishinuma in Tokyo. The traineeship gave her an interesting insight into Japanese work processes and the manufacture of textiles. The aesthetic Japanese style has influenced Dorthe’s own Nordic design expression.
